Did jesus teach in the synagogue?

Yes, Jesus taught in the synagogue on many occasions. The Gospels record at least seven times when Jesus went into his local synagogue in Nazareth or Capernaum and read from the Scriptures and then taught the people (see Matthew 13:54; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; John 6:59; etc.). This would have been a natural thing for Jesus to do since he was a rabbi, or teacher, and the synagogue was the center of religious life for the Jews. It was also a place where people came to learn about the Scriptures and to hear lectures on various topics. Jesus was undoubtedly familiar with the synagogue from his childhood and would have felt comfortable teaching in that setting. He would have been able to reach a large audience with his message in the synagogue, and we see that he did just that on many occasions. Interestingly, the Gospels record that Jesus was not always well-received in the synagogue. On more than one occasion, his teaching was met with hostility (see Luke 4:28-30; John 8:59). But that didn't deter Jesus from teaching in the synagogue. He knew that it was an important place to reach people with his message, and he continued to do so even when he was not always welcome.
