Did alexander hamilton want to revise the articles of confederation?

Alexander Hamilton was a leading figure in the early days of the United States. He was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention and was one of the principal authors of the Federalist Papers. Hamilton was also the first Secretary of the Treasury. As the country's first Treasury Secretary, Hamilton was responsible for putting the nation's finances in order. He was a strong advocate for a central government with broad powers. This put him at odds with those who favored a more decentralized government, as provided for in the Articles of Confederation. Hamilton believed that the Articles of Confederation were too weak to effectively govern the country. He thought that they needed to be revised in order to give the central government more power. Specifically, Hamilton wanted to give the central government the power to tax and to regulate commerce. Hamilton's views on the need for a strong central government were not shared by all of the Founders. Thomas Jefferson, for example, favored a more decentralized government. In the end, the Constitution that was ratified in 1788 included a number of Hamilton's ideas, but it also incorporated some of Jefferson's ideas as well.
